Westboro Real Estate
In the west end of Ottawa, there's a neighborhood called Westboro. Many people also call it Westboro Village, and it's home to just over 21,000 people. To the east is Island Park Drive, and to the north is the Ottawa River. It doesn't include the community of Westboro Beach, though, which is located immediately north of Westboro and has its own, separate community association. The area was annexed by Ottawa in 1949. It's a thriving area, and the street scene is lively there. You won't be at a loss for something to do, and with so much going on it's easy to get outdoors and meet your neighbors.
That helps foster a great sense of community in Westboro, as so many people are friendly and welcoming. It's a popular area, too, with new condo projects bringing in jobs and a larger number of residents. Local artists have painted murals in the area, and there's a good selection of sports and outdoor stores to choose from, along with other shopping options and dining choices. There are whitewater rapids options in the Ottawa River, and cycling trails nearby. If you like to do things outdoors, Westboro is your kind of place.
Of course, there are plenty of indoor options, such as bookstores, coffee shops, and other great places where you can have fun on your own or with friends and family members. Every year, the neighborhood also hosts WestFest, which is a free arts and music festival. With a wide range of budget options, you're sure to find what you're looking for. Then its off to the local shops where you can find furniture and decor to make your new place feel like home.
