Rockcliffe Park Real Estate

Rockcliffe park is a neighborhood located in the east end of Ottawa, and is part of the Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward. Just over 2,000 people call it home. It's considered to be the most affluent neighborhood in the city, with home prices averaging in the $1.5 million range. It's a very different neighborhood from the rest of the city in that it's more heavily wooded and the homes are on large lots that are set far apart from one another. There are often no sidewalks on the streets, many of which are not accessible to through traffic.

The neighborhood is on the banks of the Ottawa River, northeast of the downtown area, and encompasses a number of great places in the city, including two small lakes, a playing field, and a rock garden. The cliffs of the Ottawa River provide access to a public green space where wooded areas, lookouts, and green spaces can all be enjoyed. A large gazebo is there, as well, which adds to the elegant look of the area and the comfort of the residents and visitors who come to the park when the weather is nice. There are both public and private schools, along with a library in Rockcliffe Park, as well.

The nearby Canadian Forces Base has been sold, and developers have plans to build a community there that will blend with the existing Rockcliffe Park neighborhood and provide both housing and shopping opportunities.
