Queensway Real Estate
Queensway is close to the Britannia area, and has much to offer to its residents. The older part of the community originally belonged to Britannia Heights, but the neighborhood boundaries have changed over the years. There was a property boom in the area in the early 1900s, filling part of the area with homes but not adding enough retail and commercial services to keep the area afloat. That all changed in the 1950s when a developer bought much of the land and started actually working with the area. More than 300 homes were planned out and built, with good roads and great access to the rest of the city of Ottawa.
There was space reserved for a school, as well, and for commercial and retail options, too. A huge park was constructed in Queensway in 1967, and still remains today. The early 1970s saw rapid expansion of the area, with the creation of a number of apartment buildings. That gave people wanting to move to the area an opportunity to do so, and increased the overall population significantly. More single family homes were also built, for those who wanted to live in Queensway but also wanted to keep the privacy that they may not feel they get in an apartment setting.
Perhaps most significantly, retail and commercial endeavors began moving into the area. With prices between $180,000 and $740,000, there are many excellent options for a person wanting to buy a home there. If you choose Queensway as your new neighborhood, you'll be close to some great shopping and other amenities, too. There's easy access from the area to an impressive variety of services and shops where you can buy what you need for your new place. Before you know it, you'll really be feeling right at home in Queensway.
