Glabar Park Real Estate
In the west end of Ottawa, in the Bay Ward area, is the neighborhood of Glabar Park. Approximately 2,650 people call it home. It was first built in the 1940s, with development continuing through the '50s and '60s. Then in 1985 there were townhouses built to allow for more people to move into the area. Some of the older homes have been torn down and apartment buildings created in their place, but a number of the original homes remain. If you're looking to buy real estate in the Glabar Park neighborhood, you can expect to spend between $490,000 and $740,000.
With a number of different price points, you can locate something you love that's affordable. Once you find your new place and get settled in, you can start exploring everything that the neighborhood has to offer. There are two great parks, Castlewood Park and Kingsmere Park, where you can go to be close to nature and meet people in the area. Of the two options, Kingsmere is a better place for meeting your neighbors because it offers more amenities. In summer, there's a large wading pool. When wintertime rolls around, you can enjoy the double-sized rink for hockey.
The City of Ottawa provides those amenities to the residents of Glabar Park and to visitors who want to come and enjoy what the area has to offer. Also close to the area is Fairlawn Mall, which can be found on Carling Avenue. In the mall, you can find some great shops where you can look for things for your new home. Whether you need all new furniture or you're only interested in a couple of decorative items, you'll have stores to choose from. You're also not far from downtown, so you can take a quick trip to do more shopping, or just go out and have a good time with all the restaurants and entertainment options.
